Gonul Ozturk

Director of Academics

Gonul Ozturk is a dedicated education leader with over two decades of experience. She has served in a variety of educational roles, including teacher, mentor, compliance officer, assistant principal, chief academic officer, and principal, and currently leads educational practices as the Director of Academics at Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation (CLF).
Ms. Ozturk has a proven track record of leading schools to academic excellence, designing and implementing innovative programs, and fostering strong school communities. She has overseen instructional and operational strategies in both elementary and high school settings, driving improvements in student achievement, teacher development, and school culture. Over the past 16 years, she has worked closely with CLF schools and collaborated with Maryland public school systems, including AACPS and PGCPS, to advance educational programs and initiatives. Her leadership in charter school operations includes charter renewals, policy development, strategic planning, and the integration of technology to enhance learning outcomes.
She earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, a Master’s degree in Mathematics, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education.
Ms. Ozturk is passionate about creating equitable learning environments and empowering educators to grow professionally while ensuring students reach their full potential. She has been actively involved in mentoring future school leaders and advocating for best practices in education. Ms. Ozturk enjoys spending time with her family, cultivating a love of learning in her children, and exploring opportunities for innovation in education.
