Councilwoman Mary Lehman and BOE Member, Curtis Valentine Visit CMIT High

On Friday, September 22nd, CLF & CMIT Academy received two very distinguished leaders of our community. Our District 1 County Councilwoman, Mary Lehman, hosted all the CMIT High School staff for breakfast as part of her breakfast tour of PGCPS schools in her district. In addition, PGCPS Board Member Curtis Valentine also made a site visit to CMIT Academy and both community leaders took time to visit with students, staff, and tour the brand new state-of-the-art CLF facility.

In fact, our CMIT community should know that Council Member Mary Lehman was a true champion in helping to ensure this new High School project was opened in time for the start of school! She was there when we needed her and helped bring several members of the County to the planning and execution table in the last few vital weeks before opening.

Both Board Member Mr. Valentine and Councilmember Mrs. Lehman shared a common enthusiasm while touring and we are so thankful both have been ongoing supporters of the CMIT Academy mission and vision across Prince George’s County. On behalf of all of us at the Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy, we are tremendously grateful for their active support, time investment in all that we do, and for continuation of being role models to our students!
