CMIT Academy North Students Become NATIONAL Champions!

Dear CLF School Communities,

Last week, four students from our Laurel campus, CMIT Academy North, traveled to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida to compete in the National K-12 Grade Chess Championships. These students were James Dickens, Christopher Salley, Matthew Godshall and Phillip Nissen. Over 1800 students from across the country participated in this tournament sponsored by the United States Chess Federation.  Our students competed in four different sections based on their grade in school and chess rating.

We want everyone to know that simply participating in such a competitive tournament is impressive and commendable! We also want everyone to know that THREE of your FOUR participants came home with National Chess K-12 Grade Chess Championship Trophies!

Please join CLF and CMIT Academy by sharing and sending our congratulations to the FIRST & SECOND PLACE NATIONAL CHESS CHAMPIONS!
