Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. is currently recruiting to fill the position of Applications Development Specialist. Interested applicants must meet the following qualifications:

Requires a Master’s degree in Applied Computing/CS. Also requires 18 months of experience as computer solution developer creating IT solutions to address specific business needs and solve business problems, configure software, and develop custom application codes using Java, Perl, and SQL.

The job duties for the position include:

Develop and maintain the computer/smartphone software applications and databases for school operation, finance, instruction, and discipline. Develop, maintain, and modify custom software applications for academics, finance, and operations requested by CLF and its schools. Applications will include an online budgeting system to integrate the CLF and CLF schools’ budgets and finance; a purchase request and reimbursement system integrated with the school’s budgeting system; and a discipline point system for the schools. Develop and maintain student databases for the school-wide or all CLF schools competitions or events. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Coordinate software application installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Consult with internal teams and also school staff to be able to address their needs and make modifications. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required and security needs to determine hardware configuration. Make additions to the database structures as software requires additional features. Analyze usage data, gives feedback, and present results.
