All students are encouraged to participate in local, state, national, and international academic competitions. Since the first CLF school’s inception in 2005 our students have won over 2,000 awards in many major competitions! Below is a list of the competitions in which our students have received awards at various levels:

TEAM INFINITY EXCELS AT STATE MATHCOUNTS!

CLF students won second and third place statewide while competing against the best middle school math students across Maryland. These students represented Maryland on the four-member state team that attended the National MathCounts Competition.

 

THE AMERICAN MATH CHALLENGE

CLF students won first place in the American Math Challenge among 1,329 competing middle schools across the country!

 

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD TEAM PLACED SECOND AT THE STATE COMPETITION

CLF students earned 8 first place awards, 7 second place awards, and 3 third place awards out of 23 events at the state Science Olympiad, placing second overall as a team!

ROBOTICS TEAM PLACED SECOND AT JOHNS HOPKINS

CLF’s robotics team participated in the Johns Hopkins University Robo-Challenge 2013 competition, which was sponsored by the Johns Hopkins-based National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center for Computer-Integrated Surgical Systems and Technology. There were 43 teams of high school and middle school students representing seven Maryland counties. CLF’s team placed 2nd in the Boe-Bot Petite Slalom Challenge and third in the Mystery Course!
